S.B.Y, what do i think about him?

Hi fellow readers! As we know that it is 3 days to go for the presidential election. And soon, our beloved president, Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will no longer be our Head of State and Head of Government. Now as an international student, I think it’s time for the “hard-talk”. So, on today’s talk, I will try to analyze about Mr. Susilo’s leadership skills, as also on my 4th semester of learning, I have already studied about how to analyze a leader’s leadership skill based on much kind of aspects.

SO!!! The first opinion that comes through my mind about Mr. Susilo is about his attitude and behavior of being so prestige and taking care about his image of being so soft, in which this has made him lack of firmness of being the face of our country and this has given impact to the decision that he has done because in my opinion he is too afraid to have bad reputation in his image, so that almost all of his decision is categorized as a safe usual decision and lack of extreme decision that could enhance our country’s prosperity more.

Beside that the perception of Mr. Susilo about the enhancement of economy to have a prosper life of the people is too high, in which he uses to forget about the other aspect of having harmonize life, which one of them is the lack of infrastructure development in our country. Even though we can see that each year we gain more than 6% economy development, and it has been the highest after the new order, it seems that our people is not prosper, and he hasn’t given a term of good governance, since we still have a lot of environmental issues, bad infrastructure (even we can see from our lame transportation facility), and especially the high cost for political activities such as the election. This has also bring the fact of Mr. Susilo’s perception that he is too afraid of being out of his comfort zone, in which he always looks for the safe way and cause him to choose any kind of party, as long as they agree with his statement, and it violates the term of equality in which it should be prioritize to have a prosper equal life. Even we can see that this kind of issues that still stress the term of equality in the issues that newly happened, in which such as the cancellation of Lady Gaga concert last year, and the removal of Miss World 2013 to Bali, in which this is caused because of the threat of FPI towards those events. This shows how the soft attitude/behavior of Mr. Susilo and the perception of Mr. Susilo that affect him to stay in his comfort zone not to take an extreme brave decision such as giving warn or even punishment to those people, in which it causes the violation of equality that should not be had by all the people of Indonesia, and once again this shows how silly his attitude of being so calm even in this issues that is categorized as a smaller issue than any other political issues, but indeed this shows how our people will gain prosperity.
The picture of our President crying in public (which i think it's a BIG NO)

In the other hand, beside all of those vague skills of leadership, I would also say that Mr. Susilo has done some efforts that give him a plus point in terms of his leadership skill. Especially when we talk about our economy condition, in which some facts such as our foreign debt to IMF have been erased, the increase of our devise, the increase number of our foreign investment, and etc. Also due to the fact that he comes from an educational family and raised very educationally, it can be seen that he is very good in doing such as diplomatic stuffs such as his speech and his intelligence to face his opposition, in which this has made him as a soft power within other nations.

Lastly, I would once again said that there is no such as a perfect person in this world, so does Mr. Susilo, I would say that he has what it takes to be a leader, since he has done some efforts toward Indonesia and their development, but his factors of leadership skills such as his behavior, perceptions, and his emotional situation are rather decreasing his leadership skills. In which it can be seen from the most simple example of him, such as whenever Mr. Susilo starts crying in front of public showing his emotional situation, it shows that he is so soft and not showing that he is a tough leader, cause in my own opinion a leader should not showing his or her tears towards his or her people, because it will tear people’s confidence towards him, or in the other words he is too showing his fluffy soft heart in which once again it is not okay. And lastly, considering whether he is a good leader or not due to all of these arguments, I would say that he is a one step below than word “good” or more to an “okay” leader and it will be categorized as a word “good” or even “better” if he changes his leadership’s aspect become a tough and risk-taker leader, because that is all we need to be our leader.

So who will be our next President? will he be tough and not crying in the public? Let's pray for the best :) SEE YA on the next post
