CULTURAL DIVERSITY

written by Ariance Valentina Hia

Finally, Cultural Diversity Talks is on the air!
Here, we will discuss, explain, think, and see more about cultural diversity in this world.
When talking about culture, it is always related to something attracted, unique, beautiful, and diverse.
Many experts tried to define the culture itself;

"Formerly the word ‘culture’ referred to the “cultivation of good manners” but, in the state of gradual transformation, the word extended to incorporate “a whole range of intellectual and social activity and improvement” (Reeves 2004: 15).

"We are our culture" (Margaret Maid 1942)

"Culture means the fruit of the human mind is the result of the struggle of man against two strong influences, the nature of the times and is a testament to the triumph of human life to overcome the obstacles and hardships in life and livelihood in order to achieve salvation and happiness at the birth is orderly and peaceful." (Ki Hajar Dewantara)

Now, I'm going to let you remember, how we see culture in this world :
The world has many kind of nationality, with its own beliefs, knowledge, and uniqueness. They are all diverse.
There are so many ethnics, different colors, and different characters. They are all diverse.
They are all diverse.
(Edward B. Taylor) Culture is that complex includes:
  • knowledge - people rely on knowledge whether they want to get, prepare, know about something
  • beliefs - people have world's view of the unseen thing
  • arts - everyone has skills
  • morals - every culture has its morality
  • law - every culture has its own means of social control
  • custom - every culture has its own ways of doing things
acquired by man as member of society.
Culture brings people’s mind, people’s act, people’s interest, people’s identity which all of this which different from one to other societies. That is why culture lives in diverse. Culture makes people different. The world has many cultures. By knowing more about culture, you will know more any characters. When you know the characters of other culture, you will be easier to learn something else and sees it from any other perspectives. Studying Cultural Diversity will help you to sees something not in your own perspective. Studying cultural diversity will let you know that this world is beautiful and needed to be protected.
